శ్రీ కార్తికేయ ప్రజ్ఞావివర్ధన స్తోత్రం
స్కంద ఉవాచ:
యోగీశ్వరో మహాసేనః కార్తికేయోఽగ్నినందనః ।
స్కందః కుమారః సేనానీః స్వామీ శంకరసంభవః ॥ 1 ॥
గాంగేయస్తామ్రచూడశ్చ బ్రహ్మచారీ శిఖిధ్వజః ।
తారకారిరుమాపుత్రః క్రౌంచారిశ్చ షడాననః ॥ 2 ॥
శబ్దబ్రహ్మసముద్రశ్చ సిద్ధః సారస్వతో గుహః ।
సనత్కుమారో భగవాన్ భోగమోక్షఫలప్రదః ॥ 3 ॥
శరజన్మా గణాధీశపూర్వజో ముక్తిమార్గకృత్ ।
సర్వాగమప్రణేతా చ వాంఛితార్థప్రదర్శనః ॥ 4 ॥
అష్టావింశతినామాని మదీయానీతి యః పఠేత్ ।
ప్రత్యూషే శ్రద్ధయా యుక్తో మూకో వాచస్పతిర్భవేత్ ॥ 5 ॥
మహామంత్రమయానీతి మమ నామానుకీర్తనమ్ ।
మహాప్రజ్ఞామవాప్నోతి నాత్ర కార్యా విచారణా ॥ 6 ॥
ఇతి శ్రీరుద్రయామలే ప్రజ్ఞావివర్ధనాఖ్యం శ్రీమత్కార్తికేయస్తోత్రమ్ ॥
కార్తికేయుని 28 నామములు:
1. యోగీశ్వరః – యోగీశ్వరులకు అధిపతి.
2. మహాసేనః – దేవసైన్యానికి అధిపతి, దేవసేనాపతి.
3. కార్తికేయః – ఆరు కృత్తికా నక్షత్రములచే పోషింపబడిన వాడు.
4. అగ్నినన్దనః – పరమశివుని జ్ఞానాగ్ని నుంచి ఉద్భవించినవాడు మరియు పరమశివుని తేజస్సు కొంత సేపు భరించినందువల్ల, అగ్ని దేవునికి కూడా తనయుడిగా పిలువబడినవాడు.
5. స్కందః – పరమశివుని తేజస్సు నుండి జన్మించినవాడు.
6. కుమారః – కుమార అన్న నామం కేవలం సుబ్రహ్మణ్యునికే చెందినది.
7. సేనానీః – దేవసేనలకు అధిపతి, దేవసేనాధ్యుక్షుడు.
8. స్వామీ శంకరసంభవః – శంకరుని దివ్యమైన తేజస్సు నుండి పుట్టినవాడు.
9. గాంగేయః – పరమశివుని తేజస్సు అగ్నిదేవుడు భరించలేక, గంగా మాతకి ఇచ్చేస్తే, గంగా మాత కొంత సేపు శివుని తేజస్సును భరిస్తుంది. అందువల్ల, గంగా మాతకి కూడా పుత్రునిగా పిలబడ్డవాడు కాబట్టి గాంగేయ అనే నామం వచ్చింది.
10. తామ్రచూడః – కుక్కుటమును అధిరోహించిన వాడు.
11. బ్రహ్మచారీ – ఎల్లప్పుడూ బ్రహ్మనందు రమించువాడు.
12. శిఖిధ్వజః – అగ్ని ధ్వజముగా కలవాడు.
13. తారకారిః – తారకాసురడనే రాక్షస సంహారము చేయుటకు అవతారం దాల్చిన వాడు, తారకాసురుడిని, ఇతర రాక్షస గణములను సంహరించి దేవతలను రక్షించినవాడు.
14. ఉమాపుత్రః – ఉమాదేవి, అంటే పార్వతీ అమ్మ వారి ముద్దుల తనయుడు. అందుకే సుబ్రహ్మణ్య స్వామి వారు అచ్చం అమ్మవారి లానే ఉంటారు.
15. క్రౌంచారిః – పర్వత రూపములో ఉన్న క్రౌంచ అనే రాక్షసుడిని సంహరించినవాడు.
16. షడాననః – ఆరు ముఖములు గలవాడు.
17. శబ్దబ్రహ్మసముద్రః – జ్ఞాన స్వరూపుడు, అంటే వేదములు ఏ పరబ్రహ్మ స్వరూపమును గురించి ఘోషిస్తున్నాయో, ఆ వేద శబ్దములచే ప్రతిపాదించబడిన వాడు.
18. సిద్ధః – పరిపూర్ణ సిద్ధ స్వరూపుడు.
19. సారస్వతః – సరస్వతీ స్వరూపము, అంటే జ్ఞాన స్వరూపము.
20. గుహః – సకలజీవుల హృదయ గుహలో కొలువై ఉన్నవాడు.
21. భగవాన్ సనత్కుమారః – చతుర్ముఖ బ్రహ్మ గారి నలుగురు మానస పుత్రులలో ఒకరైన సనత్కుమారుడే సుబ్రహ్మణ్యుడిగా వచ్చారు. ఈ విషయమే, త్రిపురా రహస్యంలో మాహాత్మ్యఖండంలో వివరించబడినదని, శ్రీ శ్రీ శ్రీ చంద్రశేఖరేంద్ర సరస్వతి మహాస్వామి వారు నిర్ధారించారు.
22. భోగమోక్షఫలప్రదః – ఈ భూమి మీద మనం సుఖంగా జీవించడానికి అవసరమైన సంపదతో పాటు అంత్యమునందు మోక్షమును కూడా ఇవ్వగలిగినవాడు.
23. శరజన్మా – శరవణతటాకము (రెల్లు పొదల) నుండి జన్మించినవాడు.
24. గణాధీశః – సకల దేవతలకు, గణములకు అధిపతి అయిన వాడు.
25. పూర్వజః – అందరికన్నా ముందున్నవాడు, అంటే ఇక్కడ సుబ్రహ్మణ్య స్వామి వారు, కేవలం ఒక అవతారం మాత్రమే కాదు, ఎప్పుడూ ఉండే పరబ్రహ్మ స్వరూపం. ఆయన ఎప్పుడూ ఉన్నవాడు, పుట్టుక లేనివాడు.
26. ముక్తిమార్గకృత్ – ముక్తి మార్గమును బోధించే గురు స్వరూపం. అంత్యమున ముక్తిని ప్రసాదించి, తనలో కలుపుకునే స్వామి.
27. సర్వాగమప్రణేతా – సకల ఆగమములకు మూలము.
28. వాంచితార్ధప్రదర్శనః – అభీష్టములను నెరవేర్చే తండ్రి.
స్కందుని ఈ 28 నామాలకీ "ప్రజ్ఞావివర్ధక" నామాలని పేరు.
ఆ కార్తికేయుడే స్వయంగా ఈ కార్తికేయ స్తోత్రము పఠించడం వలన కలిగే ఫలశృతి ని చెప్పి ఉన్నారు.

ఈ "ప్రజ్ఞావివర్ధన" కార్తికేయ స్తోత్రము రుద్రయమల తంత్రములోనిది.
ఎవరైతే ఈ 28 నామములు ప్రతీ దినం ప్రాతఃకాలం భక్తి శ్రద్ధలతో చదువుతారో, వారు సరస్వతీ అనుగ్రహం పొంది, చక్కని తెలివితేటలు, మంచి వాక్కు మరియు జ్ఞానమును పొందుతారు.
