Which Is A Right Day To Perform The Right Puja?

PUJA is derived from the Sanskrit root 'puh' which means to achieve the fruits of enjoyment. Thus the word 'puja' means the rite or ritual through which the fruits of our enjoyment is born. Pundits will recommend a particular puja when the householder wants to change something in their lives. For instance, where a family has children who are not doing well in school or university, the pundit will recommed that the family perform a Sarswati Puja. However, there has been a lot of confusion about when it is a good time to do a specific PUJA and wether your PUJA can be done on a particular day and so on. Very often, Pundits (Hindu Priests) will tell the householder (YAGMAN) that a SPECIFIC PUJA has to be done on a SPECIFIC DAY or else, they claim, that the Puja would not be blessed. This explanation can be very MISLEADING but it is often used as an expedient means to accommodate life in this hustle and bustle modern world in which we live. Work, family, social entertainment and other requirements that compete for our time, places a burden on both the pundit and the householder to perform the PUJA at a time that is mutually convenient to both. This is NOT GOOD because when a puja is done on certain months, days and times  the results or blessings from the PUJA will take longer to materialize for the family. Thus if the Sarswati Puja for the children's education is done at an inauspicious time, the children may continue to have difficulties with their studies and examinations. Some pundits may even stretch the truth farther and tell the householder that he needs to do a SPECIFIC PUJA every year. Again, this is a misleading statement. Remember that a PUJA is done to correct something in a person's life. Once that area is corrected, there is no need to perform that PUJA year after year. Just as the honest mechanic will not need to fix the wheel bearings in your car year after year, so too, the Pundit will not need to fix the same area in your life year after year. However, it is good to do a puja every year to contribute to your own peace, prosperity and happiness in your home. So once the education problems faced by the children are corrected, the husband and wife may need to do a Shiva Puja to strengthen their marriage. Or they may need to do a Laxmi Puja to be able to save some more money. Thus the Pujas can be done every year according to the NEED of the family. If you wish to perform a Specic Puja every year please consult with a competent Pundit or Jyotishi who has knowledge of Vedic Astrology. ANY PUJA CAN BE DONE ON ANY DAY AND AT ANY TIME DURING THE DAY BECAUSE PRAYER TO GOD CAN NEVER BE BAD. However, if a PUJA is done at at certain auspicious times, best results can be obtained and the benefits can be increased a thousand fold.

HOW DOES A PERSON KNOW WHICH IS THE MOST AUSPICIOUS TIME TO PERFORM A PUJA?
